Teslas’ Report

What’s your take on the Tesla Models? Are these vehicles decreasing the crash rate in America? Throughout the years, Tesla has been initiating safety tests to make sure their models are fulfilling the expectations to be the safest cars in the world. Recently, Tesla reported its results for their first autopilot tests of 2019.

Tesla started releasing the data to the public in October 2018 to prove the safety information about their vehicles. Though, if you compare the recent report to the first report; it seems that it’s not improving. In quarter three of 2018, Tesla reported that one accident or crash event happened every 3.34 million miles with autopilot engaged. That’s great! However, the new report registered one accident every 2.87 million miles with the autopilot engaged.

Even though the data shows that there is no improvement so far, Tesla models are still safer than other vehicles. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there is a crash in the United States every 436,000 miles.

Tesla’s will keep on submitting quarter reports on their models and compare the data to recent studies from the National Highway Administration. There are no other automakers that provide this information to the public. Regardless of the quarter drop, this also shows Telsa on how they can improve.
