What Should Be On Your Car Test Check List

When you’re thinking of buying a new car, you should always have a checklist on what you want, what you need, and everything in between. This goes especially for purchasing a used car. You need to check the exterior, interior and how it rides.  Not only do you need to love your car – it has to run sufficiently. It’s called an investment for a reason. Don’t know what’s essential? Here are a few ideas on what you should add to your car checklist before you decide to hand in the money.

Smell Test: It may sound weird, but it’s essential if you’re buying a used car. Remember that the new car smell people rave about? That’s the type of smell you want to aim for. However, if you smell something weird or funky the vehicle might have mold or a leak. Don’t be scared to lift up the car mats to see if there is any leakage or critters in a car. You would have to speak to the rep on how to fix the problem if you decide to invest into it.

Under The Hood: It is important to check if the battery is intact. Usually, it comes with an indicator. When you pop the hood you should be able to see it. If it’s green, you’re in good shape. However, if it’s red or black it may indicate that the battery is dying. That is a huge red flag when you’re purchasing your car. Also, this is the perfect time to check the fluids and if there are any rust. If anything seems off, don’t be afraid to ask for the history of car.

Test Drive: It’s important to not only concentrate how you feel about driving the vehicle but to also listen and feel for any red flags. Keep in mind how long it takes to start the car. Does the brakes feel loose or just right? Do the air conditioner work and the seats feel just right?

Keeping this on your checklist before you go check out the car you want. You might even have the chance to negotiate a price if you know what you should look out for in a car.
